Young Visionary Award Winner

Vision 2015 - 08/20/2012 - LEGACY, the premier organization for young professionals in Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky, announced the winners of the third annual Next Generation Leader Awards.  These awards are designed to applaud and recognize Greater Cincinnati’s young professionals for their professional achievements as well as community impact and proven leadership.



Additionally, the 2015 Young Visionary Award, which was sponsored by Vision 2015, was presented to Leshia Lyman, Northern Kentucky Area Director for the United Way of Greater Cincinnati.  This award honors a young professional who through his/her personal and professional works and success has made an impact on our region.



“Leshia Lyman brings a level of expertise, accomplishment and productivity to our community,” said Bill Scheyer, President of Vision 2015. “She is a bright, capable leader who understands complex issues and drives civic change across our region.”



The first-ever IMPACT award, also presented by LEGACY, went to Dr. James Votruba, President of Northern Kentucky University.  This award recognizes a person in our community who has been a champion for young professional.  Dr. Votruba will be retiring in August, but through the years that Dr. Votruba has been president at NKU, he has been a leading promoter of growth at the University and in the region.

BUSINESS AND FINANCIAL SERVICES: Nick Reilly, HORAN Capital Advisors



COMMUNICATION, MARKETING AND SALES: Tess Burns, Gateway Community and Technical College



COMMUNITY AND SOCIAL SERVICES:  Sarah Thompson Allan, Center for Great Neighborhoods of Covington



DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION: Jamie Gerdsen, Apollo Heating Cooling and Plumbing



EDUCATION: Katie Herschede, Northern Kentucky University



GOVERNMENT AND PUBLIC AFFAIRS:  Chris Lawson, City of Hamilton



LEGAL SERVICES: David Spaulding, Turner Construction



MANUFACTURING, TECHNOLOGY AND SCIENCES:  Blake Shipley, CoupSmart



MEDICAL AND HEALTH CARE SERVICES: Susan Bohl, St. Elizabeth Healthcare



All of the people awarded at the dinner on July 19th have made a significant impact on the Greater Cincinnati region and we thank them for all their hard work and dedication.
